Welcome !

Early Childhood Center-School Year 2016-2017

"Play is the highest expression of human development."
Welcome to The One School At Temple Beth Am, Celebrating the Whole Child. We understand and respect that every child is essentially, ‘the one.’ Every child is unique. The specifics of how we nurture and grow each child are dependent entirely upon the needs of the child. This is how we celebrate each child - by engaging him or her at his or her point of need. The One School partners with every parent to ensure every child is championed and educated as an individual.

The One School is a NAEYC Accredited, Reggio Emilia Nature-inspired school, serving ages 18 months to five years. The One School offers certified teachers, a low student/teacher ratio, an emergent creative curriculum and specialty areas of study including science, art, music, foreign language and nature study. The One School’s curricula are supplemented by young family programs and parenting workshops, an infant and toddler program, Family Center, Summer Camp, after school enrichment classes and an active and instrumental Parent Teacher Organization. A commitment to contribute to the community and the world at large is also a part of the school’s social justice philosophy.

Busch Wildlife Visits our Camp

For our second week of camp, our children enjoyed a visit from Busch Wildlife.
As we study all about Florida and the local animals, our children were able to touch and
meet many animals from the Busch Wildlife.

Wildlife at Riverbend Mural

Our Artist for the week, Ms Robin, worked with each class to create a community mural about the floral and fauna at our local Riverbend Park in West Jupiter.  Pictures, real objects, and books were used to help children create their contribution to the mural.  Our seahorses and whales made trees,
our sheashell groups made birds, our manatees made frogs, and our dolphins and seastars made alligators and lizards.  Next week our guppies will also make a group alligator.  Children each day could visit the progession of the mural and enjoy the touch table which had all real findings from the park.  What a great start for our camp adventure.

Summer is Here

Let the Sunshine In Camp at Temple Beth Am has officially opened!  We have so many new faces and well as our regulars.  This summer will be only using my posts for the blog.  I will feature our special programs as they are enjoyed by our campers.  Each class will send a personal newsletter from the class.  Look for tomorrow's post on the Reggio- inspired mural featuring Riverbend Park.
Ms Robin, our artist for the week will be creating this mural with our campers  based on the animals found at this park.

Reflection by Paula- A year's end

As this school year ends, I reflect on the year’s accomplishments.  What really makes a good school! It is not only the standards that we follow, and the curriculum that we adhere to.   It is the people.  This place is special because of the staff that dedicates themselves to our children.  It is the warm friendly atmosphere that greets our children each and every day.  The care is individual and personal! Your questions are always answered by our efficient administrator, Sherrie.  She makes sure our families are treated with respect!   Parent participation is so important at our school.  I invite you to continue to be a part of the community next year with enthusiasm and excitement.  I wish each family a relaxing summer and look forward to another great year!

Thank you again for entrusting your children with us.  Thank you staff, parents, and children for being part of our school family!
